Mission

Sound designed to bring a sense of calm

NTM Sound is a sound design studio and educational practice dedicated to creating and facilitating experiences and recordings using the medium of sound. NTM Sound was founded in New York City in 2014 by Nate Martinez, a certified sound therapy practitioner and accomplished professional musician. NTM Sound has developed and designed sound meditation recordings for deep listening and meditative experiences for brands, apps and wellness spaces; facilitated sound baths and sound meditations, in-person and virtually; regularly leads corporate wellness seminars with global companies; and has offered one-on-one instruction and mentoring in the field of sound therapy. NTM Sound and Martinez have been integral in growing an awareness of the sound meditation and sound therapy fields over the past 9 years.

NTM Sound utilizes a range of elements for site specific installations to provide a dynamic meditative experience transporting each listener from their daily activities to a space of reflection and calm. These elements include: field recordings, nature sounds, psychoacoustic techniques, acoustic instruments, synthesized and designed sounds and everything in between filtered through a thorough knowledge of sound therapy and a decade of experience as a meditation practitioner.

The sound design elements and functional compositions are created at Awave Sound Lab, Martinez’s recording studio based in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.
